May was a month full of changes: I came back from Brazil, my boyfriend Robert De Niro visited me and my family in Italy, I managed to start studying again (yes, I did!), the exam session in uni is getting closer… I hardly had time to stop and think, so I’m going to take a moment here to summarize.
What I’m reading
I used to read many books at a time, when I was in high school. Somehow since then my brain capacity decreased, so I usually read one book at a time – except for when it’s two very different genres and one of them is very theoretical – like The Yoga Sutras of Patanjali. I really wish I read more, but I always fail at this resolutions. Let’s see how 2015 goes. In the meanwhile, right now I’m reading Emma by Jane Austen. As the other books I’ve read by Jane Austen (Pride and Prejudice, Sense and Sensibility) I’m loving it, and with seventy pages to go I’m dying to find out how it ends!
What I’m watching
I managed to watch all the seasons of How I Met Your Mother in record time. Even though I can’t stand Ted, the main character, I found the series extremely funny and I made my boyfriend start watching it – we have already watched the first season together. If you don’t want to suffer from severe depression, though, DO NOT watch the last two episodes. Don’t say I didn’t warn you.
What I’m eating
I must dedicate this section to McDonald’s. I do hate them for several reasons, but this month they came up with the McVeggie, FINALLY! In the end it was nothing special – two years ago in Germany I tasted a vegetarian burger at McDonald’s which was AMAZING, but never found it again anywhere else – but I’m glad they finally thought of me.
What I’m drinking
Also, for the first time in my life I found a beer I really like. It’s not too bitter, not too heavy, made of five cereals and nine spices. Say Hello to Wayan.
What I’m writing (on the Blog)
This month I decided on my boyfriend’s blog-name thanks to the poll you took for me and I created the series The Difference of Awareness (pt. 1, pt. 2, pt. 3 and counting) as part of my Psycho Tuesday feature. I also shared with you a very interesting TedTalk about depression and I tried to describe how hard a long-distance relationship can be.
What I’m listening to
Guys, I rediscovered Janis Joplin! What a woman, and what a voice! I can’t get the guitar of Summertime out of my head… Here’s a live version from 1969:
My suitcase before leaving Brazil, my striped leggins, Wayan, McVeggie, the chocolate cake I baked in Warsaw…
What I’ve been up to
I came back after two months in Brazil. I stayed at my Grandma’s with my boyfriend who came to visit me. I visited some Erasmus friends in Poland with my boyfriend. I started Yoga again. I started studying again. I moved back home with my parents and my sister.
Barn Burger – the best burger in Warsaw – with our friends. THANK YOU, guys!
My Grandma faking English. Lovely.
My boyfriend using a moka for the first time in his life.
Yoga, which will always be in my top moments.
